Anonymous asked Hi Andy--I would like to get a gift certificate as a housewarming gift. My friends just moved to midtown and your ice cream--delivered--would be fun for them!
Can you email a certificate by this Thursday, February 3, 2011????? That would be great!
Met you at Christmas...friend of Paul and Donna.
Thank you! Janet
I would love to! I’ve been taking a holiday break, but i’m planning on starting up again in the next week or so. Why don’t you email me, then you can give me their email and we can work out payment.

My favorite time of the year…
Ah.. fall! The leaves, the temperature dropping, the variable weather. Gotta love it! It’s time to outfit the bikes with lights and fenders, pull out the heavy coats, and start new projects for the winter.
I’m really excited about this ice cream. This is one of the first recipes that i have written without anything to go off of. (ok ok.. i got the idea from an Iron Chef episode) Usually I start with ideas from the great book The Perfect Scoop by David Lebovitz. Anyways, this one is all me, and i think it turned out to be one of the best that i have made!
Anyways, here it is, Bourbon Brown Sugar ice cream. Made with some fancy brown sugar i had stashed away and some nice bourbon. Delicious!

As usual, i’d be happy to deliver to your home in the midtown/east sac area, or you can pick it up from me. Just shoot me an email and we’ll work it out! 10$ a pint.
Bringing in the Fall
Well I guess fall is here. It didn’t really feel like it today, but with any luck it will be soon! So in the spirit of fall I present you with an ice cream inspired by a tasty warming beverage.. with a kick!
Aztec Hot Chocolate: a chocolate ice cream with a kick of ancho & chile powder.
That’s right, a spicy ice cream. A chocolate-ey delicious, warm you up when it’s cold, leave a kick in the back of your throat ice cream!
This ice cream has no eggs, instead there is a splash of cognac. Just a heads up for anyone who is concerned by that.

10$ a pint, as usual i can bring it to you, you can pick it up from me @ work, or you can come get it from me @ my home!

Fig-Balsamic
ahhh, it’s been a while. We managed to take some much-needed vacation time, and visited NYC! It was a great time, we spent pretty much all of our time eating. Managed to squeeze in a few museums, and the union square farmer’s market which was great!

It was much much bigger than our farmer’s market here (under the freeway on sundays). There were many more stands with “made” goods; bread, pies & baked goods, cheeses, pickles and even yarn. Pretty inspirational, i really need to get a business license lined up so i can sell at our local farmer’s markets.

We also ate (a few times) at the Van Leeuwen ice cream truck. Really good artisan ice cream. Organizations like this were really the inspiration for me to start up IceCreamStache, so it was great to get to see them in action.

So, back to Sacramento. This week i have something for the foodies among you. Fig-Balsamic ice cream! I think it is really tasty, it has a kick that i quite like. Also, it has the BEST TEXTURE of ANY ice cream i think i have ever tasted. (if i do say so myself)

I just have a few of these, so if you want one, be quick! 10$

P.S. Follow me on Twitter!
Turned out I have two more pints of pear Caramel left! Let me know if you want to call dibs…
Pear Caramel!
Ok, i have pear caramel ready for you! Made with “Sunsprite” pears from the market. I’ve been getting a lot of good feedback from the blog and all all the pictures.. so i have a bunch this time!
as usual, 10$ a pint, i can deliver in the greater midtown area. Email or hit the contact button!
on to the pictures…
Strawberry!
This was a fun batch to make. We picked up a half-flat of strawberries at our usual farmer’s market. (sunday, under the freeway) We tasted all the strawberries at the market (didn’t seem like all of the vendors really wanted to give out samples.. strange). Turns out, the nicest people have the best tasting berries! go figure…
So we tied that flat, along with two stuffed panniers of produce, on the front rack of my bike and rode the 6 miles home. Fun times.. great weather, good food. What a life eh?
I suppose it goes without saying that i now have Strawberry Ice Cream! as usual, 10$ a pint, and i am more than happy to bring it to you if your in the Land park, tahoe park, midtown, east sac.. etc. areas. Anywhere i can get to on bike w/o it melting. Or come pick it up!

The payoff!
